This year, we will enjoy a potluck (Chicken will be provided by the church), followed by a special Maundy Thursday service. Childcare during the service will be provided. All are welcome, with or without a dish to pass. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall/Old Chapel.
Maundy Thursday, not Monday Thursday, is a special day in the life of the Church. In the year Jesus died, the Passover Holiday for Jews happened to land on the Thursday before Jesus' crucifixion. Therefore, Jesus was together with his closest friends, the Disciples, for one last meal, the Passover meal. Jesus also modeled servant leadership by washing his disciples' feet during this meal. This night we strip the altar in remembrance of Jesus' betrayal.
