St. Paul's Lutheran Church is excited to announce our partnership with River Oaks Community Church and Friendship AME Church in establishing a Blessing Box Ministry to serve our Old Village community.

What is a Blessing Box?
A Blessing Box is an accessible outdoor food pantry that provides immediate assistance to community members experiencing food insecurity. This ministry allows neighbors in need to access essential food items with dignity and privacy.

Our Partnership

  • Friendship AME Church has provided the location for the Blessing Box
  • River Oaks Community Church's Pastor Robie Hiott constructed the box with donated materials
  • St. Paul's will create signage acknowledging all three churches' partnership

How You Can Help

  • Purchase extra non-perishable food items during your regular shopping
  • Bring donations to church or the Blessing Box directly
  • Participate whenever you are able - this is an ongoing ministry

Why It Matters

Many in our community face difficult choices between food and other essential needs like medication or utilities. This ministry provides crucial support to our neighbors during challenging times, particularly serving the low-income housing community in our area.

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation" - Mark 16:15

Through this collaborative effort, three churches unite to share Christ's love in practical ways. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in our community.

UPDATE: The Blessing Box was dedicated on Monday, May 5, with pastors from each congregation present. It is already receiving traffic.
